Slow internet speed: PHC issues notice to PTA, secretary IT

PESHAWAR, AUG 21 (ONLINE): Peshawar High Court (PHC) has issued notice to PTA and federal secretary IT on the petition against slow internet speed.

The petition against slow speed of internet came up for hearing before a 2-member bench of PHC comprising Justice Ijaz Anwar and Justice Muhammad Ijaz Khan Wednesday.

Noman Mohib Kakakhel counsel for the petitioner took the plea that internet is highly slow all over the country due to which the users are facing difficulties.

Justice Ijaz Anwar inquired firewall is what thing.

The counsel told the court this is such a thing on which any thing can be stopped or controlled on digital platform. If firewall is used then audio and video will not be downloaded when they will. Only messages will be transmitted.

The court remarked there is problem in the internet since several days.

The counsel replied problem is in the entire Pakistan and government is doing nothing in this regard.

The court inquired is it not in the knowledge of government that why it is being done so. Government is saying this has gone slow due to use of VPN.

The counsel told the court government has forced people to use VPN. Using VPN is dangerous. But no other option is left except this.

The court issued notice to PTA and federal secretary.
