LHC moved for restoration of internet service

LAHORE, May 12 (Online): Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notice to the respondents for May 22 and sought reply on the petition filed against imposition of ban on internet service and social media.

Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh of LHC took up for hearing petition filed by advocate Muhammad Ijaz Khan against imposition of ban on internet service and social media.
Federal government, PTA and others have been made respondents.

Plea has been taken in the petition internet service was suspended all over the country on the arrest of Imran Khan. Suspending internet service is violation of basic rights and is against the law. Other social media whatsapp including U-Tube, twitter and face book were shut.

The court through the petition has been requested to order for restoration of internet service and social media apps all over the country.
