Closure of X (twitter) case: LHC summons AG on April 17 for assistance

LAHORE, APRIL 08 (ONLINE): During the hearing of petitions filed against closure of X (twitter) Lahore High Court (LHC) has summoned Attorney General (AG) on April 17 for assistance of the court.
A 3-member bench of LHC presided over by Justice Aalia Neelum took up the case for hearing Tuesday.

The other judges are justice Farooq Haider and Justice Ali Zia Bajwa.
During the hearing of the case the Additional Attorney General (AAG) said PTA has filed report in this case. List of the members from ruling party who were using X was summoned. It is not possible for us to provide any such list.
Advocate Azhar Siddique said PTA and government are not on one page on the closure of twitter.

CJ Aalia Neelum remarked there is no concept of one page in the court. You and court are not on one page too.
Advocate Azhar Siddique said no written reply has come from government side in this regard. On what basis twitter was closed. Court had sought list of ruling party members who are using twitter but it has not been provided.
CJ LHC Aalia Neelum ordered AG should appear in the court with full preparations. He should throw light on all legal things.
Counsel for the federal government requested court has summoned AG on April 17. These petitions too be fixed for hearing on April 17.
Justice Farooq Haider remarked we have called AG due to sensitivity of this case.

LHC while summoning AG in person on April 17 adjourned the hearing of the case.
