Shaheen Afridi becomes leading wicket-taker since his international debut

LAHORE – March 22 (ONLINE) Pakistan’s world class pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has become the leading wicket-taker in international cricket since he made his debut back in 2018.

The left-arm pacer achieved this feat during the third Test match against Australia after he dismissed Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Swepson.
Shaheen has now taken 192 international wickets since his debut and has overtaken Australian captain Pat Cummins who has 191 scalps under his belt.

In addition to this, Shaheen Afridi also has the best strike rate (36.0) of all the bowlers with 150+ wickets.

Former Australian pace sensation and currently the Pakistan bowling Coach Shaun Tait is satisfied with the bowlers’ performance in the ongoing Test between Pakistan and Australia.

“Shaheen is a great bowler and asks a lot of questions. so far, I have enjoyed my time with him, and I actually learned a lot from him,” Tait added.

He was impressed with young pacer Naseem Shah and the way he bowled on day one of the third Test.

“He is very mature and skillful for his age. He showed that yesterday by getting both conventional and reverse swing. He got some crucial wickets at the end of the day, and hopefully, he gets more wickets in the morning session today.” Tait stated.

Shaun Tait also spoke about the Pakistan team’s plans for day two against Australia.
