Pak coaches to train Afghan blind cricket players

ISLAMABAD, Jul 24 (APP): The Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) will send two national coaches, Masood Jan and Sanaullah Marwat, to Jalalabad next month to train the Afghan blind cricket team.PBCC Chairman Syed Sultan Shah said, the Afghanistan Blind Cricket Association requested Pakistan’s assistance in training their players.

Shah, who also the President of World Blind Cricket Limited, said Afghanistan Blind Cricket Council was also given a temporary membership in the World Blind Cricket Limited executive committee meeting so that their players can also participate in international competitions.

Afghanistan will become the 11th country to participate in blind cricket and we will also try to include Afghanistan in the T20 Blind Cricket World Cup, he said.
The training camp, sponsored by PBCC, will provide coaching to 35 Afghan blind players and three coaches. This initiative aims to prepare the Afghan team for international competitions.

The PBCC has assured its full cooperation in this endeavor, further solidifying Pakistan’s commitment to promoting blind cricket in the region.

This is not the first time Pakistani coaches have shared their expertise with neighboring countries. Previously, they have trained blind players from Nepal and Bangladesh as well, he said.
