LAHORE, Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh presided over an important meeting in connection with the holding of PCB’s Central Punjab Cricket Association Schools Cricket Championship here at National Hockey Stadium on Monday.
Director Admin Javed Chohan, Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti, Divisional Sports Officers Nadeem Qaiser, Rana Hammad, Tariq Nazir, Waheed Babar, Deputy Director Rauf Bajwa, Khurram Niazi of PCB Central Punjab Cricket Association and TSOs of Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sargodha attended the meeting.
All important affairs regarding the promotion of cricket in the province and organization of PCB Schools Cricket Championship were discussed in detail during the meeting. The championship is slated to be staged from September 15 to October 10, 2021.
Addressing the meeting, Adnan Arshad Aulakh informed that over 2500 players will participate in the Schools Cricket Championship scheduled to be played in four divisions – Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Sargodha. “After Schools Cricket Championship, we are also planning to hold Inter-Collegiate, Inter-Board and Inter-University Cricket Championships in future,” he added.
He further said that Sports Board Punjab will provide all necessary facilities during the Schools Cricket Championship and in this regard key instructions have been given to Divisional Sports Officers Nadeem Qaiser, Rana Hammad, Tariq Nazir, Waheed Babar. “We are quite confident that the Schools Cricket Championship will play an important role for the further flourishing of cricket in the province”.
Director General Sports said that Sports Board Punjab will provide all facilities in Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Sargodha divisions for Schools Cricket Championship. “Every kind of cooperation will also be extended to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the successful holding of Schools Cricket Championship,” he added.
