Lahore, September 06, (Online): National cricket team’s head coach Misbahul Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis have resigned from their posts.
According to sources, Saqlain Mushtaq and Abdul Razzaq will fulfill the temporary responsibility during the New Zealand series.
“I know this is not the ideal time, but now I want to spend time with my family, said Misbah while speaking to media in Lahore on Monday.
He said that, “I reviewed my two-month quarantine performance in Jamaica and concluded that I was not currently in the frame of mind to deal with the challenges.”
Meanwhile, Waqar Younis said that when Misbah informed him about his decision of resign, he also decided to resign, adding that “I am satisfied to work with Pakistan’s young fast bowlers”.
It should be noted that Misbah and Waqar took over the responsibilities in Pakistan Cricket Board in September 2019.
