Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Traditional Games, Mukha competitions started in Mardan

PESHAWAR, Oct 01 In the context of traditional sports organized by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Department, the Makha competitions have started in Mardan, inaugurated by Additional Assistant Commissioner Ibn Amin and Deputy Director Operations Jamshed Baloch.

On this occasion, Regional Sports Officer Sulaiman Khan, District Sports Officer Saeed Akhtar, Provincial President Mukha Tir Andazi Association Amjad Hasan Yousafzai, General Secretary Farman Shah along with the Cabinet and other personalities were present.

The final of the event will be played on October 6, 2024. Adviser to the Chief Minister on Sports and Youth Affairs Syed Fakher Jahan will be the chief guest of the event. Eight old teams of Mardan district are participating in these competitions, including teams from Babuzai Club, Shamozai Club, Mian Khan, Singaon, Artona and Chapalabad.

The organizing secretary of this event was Amjad Khan Yousafzai who made the best arrangements for the event. On this occasion, Deputy Director Operations Jamshed Baloch appreciated the efforts of DG Sports Abdul Nasir and said that traditional sports are continuing with his hard work day and night and events will be organized in other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said Mukha is an ancient game which is played vigorously in Swabi, Mardan and Buner, club level competitions will be organized in these districts in the first phase under the auspices of Department of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

After organizing the traditional games in different regions, the winners of the various events will be specially invited to Peshawar Horse and Cattle Show and Horse and Cattle Show and Mukha Tournament finals to be held in Dera Ismail Khan.

The players will be awarded more prizes, the purpose of organizing the traditional games is to make efforts to keep the traditional games alive across the province and it is hoped that such initiatives will further promote the traditional games in these areas.
