ISLAMABAD, August 23 (Online): Pakistan’s left-handed opener Imam-ul-Haq has climbed up to the third spot in the updated International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI rankings.
Imam scored a fighting half-century against Afghanistan during the first ODI in Hambantota on Tuesday.
The opener scored 61 in 94 balls to help Pakistan survive in the first innings after losing quick wickets at the start.
For his match-saving performance against Afghanistan, he jumped to third from fourth position.
Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, who went runless in the first outing against Afghans, remained on top of the ODI rankings.
Fakhar Zaman dropped two positions down to fifth. South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen retained the second position whereas India’s Shubman Gill gets promotion to the fourth position.
Mujeeb ur Rehman, after bagging 3-33 against Pakistan last night, grabbed third position.
Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf, who bagged his maiden fifer against Afghanistan on Tuesday, climbed up to 36th position.
