Fakhar shines in Shadab XI’s 4-wicket win over Babar XI

LAHORE   –  Fakhar Zaman smashes superb century to steer Shadab XI to a 4-wicket win over Babar XI in the 50-over practice match here at Gaddafi Stadium on Monday. 

Shadab XI, who were given the revised target of 320 runs to chase in 50 overs, reached home safely in 45.2 overs losing 6 wickets. Opener Fakhar Zaman excelled with impressive 109 runs (retired) while Sarfraz Ahmed cracked 58 (retired), all-rounder M Nawaz unbeaten 43 and Danish Aziz 39 runs. For Babar XI, Faisal Akram and Haris Rauf chipped in with two wickets each conceding 56 and 52 runs respectively. 

Earlier, Babar XI posted 289-7 in 50 overs but the target was revised to 320. Opener Imam-ul-Haq hammered 91 runs retired while captain Babar Azam slammed 83 runs retired. Saud Shakeel and Haris Rauf also batted well and contributed with unbeaten 40 and 23 runs respectively. Shahnawaz Dahani and Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled brilliantly for Shadab XI as they grabbed 3 and 2 wickets for 39 and 43 runs respectively.
