Europe’s top scorers this season

ISLAMABAD – May 13 (ONLINE) From Mohamed Salah to Robert Lewandowski via Karim Benzema, Kylian Mbappe and Ciro Immobile, European football is loaded with goal scoring talent chasing down Golden Boots in the Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, Ligue 1 and Serie A.

Proven performers that have mastered the most difficult skill in football – hitting the back of the net – are worth their weight in gold and can be expected to contribute significantly to pursuits of major silverware and qualification for continental competition.

Who tops the goal charts at present in the major divisions across Europe, with some of the biggest names on the planet competing with one another for the right to be considered the most clinical finisher around? Online takes a look.

Premier League has Liverpool’s Muhammad Salah, Tottenham’s Heung-min Son, and Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo as its leading goal scorers this season. They have respectively scored 22, 21 and 18 goals so far.

In Spain, the France international Karim Benzema leading the charge as he has scored 27 goals this season. He is being followed by Celta Vigo’s Lago Aspas with 18 goals, while Benzema’s teammate Vinicius Jr has scored 17 goals for Real Madrid.

Italy’s Golden Boot’s race has three leading contenders including Lazio’s Ciro Immobile with 27 goals, followed by Dusan Vlahovic who has scored 23 this season both for Fiorentina and Juventus. Inter’s Lautaro Martinez holds the number three spot.

In France, Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe is in the driving seat to grab Golden Boot with 24 goals, and is being challenged by Monaco’s Wissam Ben Yedder and Rennes’s Martin Terrier, who both have scored 21 goals each.
