DUBAI Oct 01 (Online): The list of bowlers expected to take the most wickets in the World Cup scheduled in India has been released.
The leading cricket magazine has released the list of 6 bowlers including Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi.
The list includes 3 Indian bowlers Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj.
Australia’s fast bowler Mitchell Starc and New Zealand’s Trent Boult are also included in this list.
India’s Kuldeep Yadav has taken the most wickets so far this year with 33, he took 5 for 25 against Pakistan in the Asia Cup. Shaheen Afridi has a reputation for taking wickets in the early overs and the South Former African fast bowler Dale Steyn has also included Shaheen Afridi among the top bowlers of the World Cup.
The fastest bowler who took the most wickets overall in the World Cup is Glenn McGrath of Australia who took 71 wickets in 39 matches at an average of 18.19 while Sri Lankan spinner Muralitharan took 68 wickets in 40 matches at an average of 19.63.
