LAHORE Oct 11 (Online): India’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah will perform against Pakistan in front of 132,000 fans at the world’s largest cricket stadium in his hometown Ahmedabad.
However, despite the high-profile clash, family is the priority for the 29-year-old pacer. “I’m away from home for a while now, I’ll be happy to see my mother back home,” Bumrah said after taking 4-39 in Wednesday’s eight-wicket win over Afghanistan. The fast bowler’s mother Diljit, who is also a school principal, raised him after his father died suddenly before Bumrah was 5 years old.
Jasprit Bumrah said, “I’m going to see mum. That’s the first priority for me. Bumrah will focus on facing Pakistan at a venue where he is yet to play one-day internationals even though he’s not playing at that venue.
Although, he are more familiar with as it is the home of their Gujarat IPL team.
“I have not played an ODI there but I have played a Test match. The atmosphere is going to be exciting,” Bumrah said.
I’m sure a lot of people are coming. So, it will be a sight to behold. So yeah, hope for the best.
