ISLAMABAD, Aug 12 :United Arab Emirates (UAE) Consul General Bakheet Ateeq Al-Romaithi in Karachi praised the victory of Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem, terming his success a triumph for the entire Muslim community and noted that Arshad’s achievement brought joy not only to Pakistan but also to the people of the UAE.
In an Interview with a private news channel on Monday, he highlighted the strong bonds of solidarity and shared celebration between the two nations. The two countries have a long history of cooperation and mutual support, with the UAE being one of Pakistan’s largest trading partners and a significant source of foreign investment, he remarked.
He underscored the deep cultural and people-to-people ties between the two nations, which go beyond mere diplomatic relations.
Responding to a query, he explained that Pakistan has played a pivotal role in the UAE’s development and progress, with Pakistani professionals and workers contributing significantly to the country’s growth and prosperity.
From the early days of the UAE’s formation to the present day, Pakistanis have been instrumental in shaping the country’s infrastructure, economy, and society, he acknowledged.
He said that the Pakistan-UAE trade volume has surpassed a record $8 billion, a testament to the robust economic ties between the two countries. This significant milestone highlights the growing bilateral trade and investment cooperation, with the UAE emerging as one of Pakistan’s largest trading partners, he added.
He highlighted that the increasing trade volume results from the strong economic bonds and strategic partnerships between Pakistan and the UAE, with both countries exploring new avenues for collaboration and mutual benefit. To another query, he said the UAE has consistently demonstrated its commitment to supporting the Pakistani nation, with the country always opening its doors to welcome Pakistani citizens.
