BAHAWALPUR, Jan 18 :Divisional Commissioner Musarrat Jabeen reviewed the arrangements for the 20th International Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally, here on Saturday and told the meeting that the event would highlight Cholistan and the historical and cultural heritage of the region at the national and international levels.
Participation of international racers, in addition to Pakistani racers, would help present the soft image of the area to the world, she said while presiding over a meeting regarding preparations for the Desert Jeep Rally event. The event would be held from February 12 to February 16 in Cholistan.
The commissioner directed that temporary tent settlements, food and beverage facilities, and other necessary arrangements for the participants and spectators of the rally be completed in a timely manner, and that the repair work on the roads adjacent to the Derawar Fort be finished soon.
She said that a cultural festival would also be organised alongside the Cholistan Desert Rally. Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Musarrat Jabeen emphasized that timely arrangements will be ensured for traffic and security plans, as well as other facilities during the rally.
RPO Bahawalpur Rai Babar Saeed, Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Dr. Farhan Farooq, DPO Bahawalpur Asad Sarfraz Khan, and Managing Director Cholistan Development Authority Tariq Mahmood Bukhari attended the meeting. Deputy Commissioner Rahim Yar Khan, DPO Rahim Yar Khan, Deputy Commissioner Bahawalnagar, DPO Bahawalnagar, and the Assistant Commissioners of the relevant tehsils participated through video link. Additional Commissioner Aamir Khichi, GM TDCP Nauman Khan, and TDCP Manager Naeem Iqbal Baig briefed the meeting.
