ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 : An electrifying display of martial arts skill and sportsmanship at the COMBAXX Presents 17th Korean Ambassador National Taekwondo Championship, took place at the Liaquat Gymnasium of Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad on Sunday.
The annual event attracted cadets and senior athletes from across Pakistan, who showcased the growing talent and potential in the sport.
In -57kg category of cadet boys khyrougi event, the competition was fierce among the cadet boys, with young athletes representing various provinces and departments. Raheem from Balochistan won gold medal, Hashir from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa took silver, Junaid representing Islamabad Association claimed bronze and Sindh’s Rehman, who ended fourth also won bronze.
In girls -51kg cadet girls khyrougi category, Ghose Fatima clinched the gold for Islamabad Purple team, Zainab Aftab of Islamabad Golden clinched silver, while Khadija from Islamabad Association and Aima Tariq from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who ended third and fourth respectively won bronze medals.
Similarly, in +51kg Maiza from Islamabad Association brought home a gold medal. The silver went to Khushbakht from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Maham from Islamabad Black won bronze medals. Syed Gul Nain from Punjab, who ended 4th also bagged bronze.
In -60kg category of para khyrougi event of female athletes, Saira from the Army clinched first position. Hira from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ended second, while Javeria from Punjab finished third.
In -70kg category of para male, Arsalan of Pakistan Army took first position, Ehtisham of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa claimed second position, while Saleem of PAF finished third. Zahid of Balochistan ended fourth.
