Urdu lovers to celebrate birthday of Novelist Mumtaz Mufti

ISLAMABAD Sep 10 (Online): Urdu literature lovers will wish ‘Happy birthday to late distinguish urdu writer and novelist Mumtaz Mufti’s today (Monday).

Famous writer Mumtaz Mufti’s real name was Mumtaz Hussain and he was born on Sep 11, 1905 in Gordaspur, India.

Mumtaz Mufti’s first two novels was ‘Jhuki Jhuki Ankhein’ and ‘Adbi Duniya’ were published in 1936.

His novels includes “An Kahi, Gehma Gehmi, Chup Samaraein, Guria Ghar, Roghni Putly, Samy Bhandhan, and Kami na aa jaey.”

His other writings were birgraphic novel “Alipur ka Aili” and Itineraries “Labaik” and Hindyatra” and Sketches were “Peyaz K Chilky” and “Okhay Log”.

Mumtaz Mufti was died on October 27, 1995.
Government of Pakistan honored his literary service with Medal Sitara-i-Imtiaz.
