Rotary International acknowledges Pakistan’s success in polio fight

WASHINGTON 02 Mar (Online): International Polio Plus committee of Rotary International has acknowledged the Pakistan success on polio eradication and said no case surfaced in last five months.

Chairman international polio plus committee Michael McGovern met Pakistan ambassador to America Masood Khan on Wednesday.

During meeting he said from alarming number of polio cases last year to zero polio case in last five months is huge success. Pakistani leadership and Prime Minister role to eradicate polio is commendable.

Chairman International Polio Plus Committee brief Pakistan ambassador Masood Khan and said organization for its mission to eradicate polio is working in cooperation with National Health Services Regulations & Coordination and provincial health departments.

He said 3,000 Rotarys’ are helping government to control this paralyses disease challenge in Pakistan.

Pakistan envoy thanked Rotray international for their worthy cooperation.
Masood Khan said this paralyzing disease is danger for Pakistan’s future and its eradication is all governments’ top priority.

He said success to eradicate polio is due to health department, polio workers and law enforemnet agencies. Who, despite all challenges, have made access possible to every nook and corner of the country and provide polio vaccine.

Actually society’s upper class is palying front line role in this fight.
Masood Khan also thanked U.S government, organizations and other related persons for their cooperation to Pakistan in polio eradication.

Pakistan envoy said despite all success there will be no relaxation will be given to campaign against polio.
