Islamabad, Jan 3 (Online): President Arif Alvi approved the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Bill 2022.
The purpose of the bill is to repeal the Federal Medical Teaching Institute (FMTI) Act, 2021.
Earlier, the President under Article 75 (1) (B) of the Constitution, sent back the bill to the Parliament for reconsideration on November 8, 2022.
The Parliament, under Article 75 (2) of the Constitution, in a joint session on December 20, 2022, after reconsidering the Bill, passed the amendments.
The Bill was approved by the President under Article 75 of the Constitution.
