Efforts being made to control Patient referral system, HD BKMC MTI

Peshawar January 03 (Online): Bacha Khan Medical Complex gained the trust and confidence of people after getting the status of Medical Teaching Institute.

The Institute provided treatment to more than 200000 patients in 2021 which is a proof of it. In addition, more than 300000 different kinds of tests were also conducted in the respective year, as per MTI BKMC release 2021 data.

Bacha Khan Medical Complex, teaching hospital of Gajju Khan medical college released annual data of 2021 revealing that just in four months more than 1500 Patients received free treatment under “KP Sehat Sahulat Program”, Hospital Director Dr. Khalid Masud described that daily OPD increased hundred percent, Before MTI ,our daily OPD was 700 to 800 which is now up to 1300 to 1400 daily.

Public trust in Bacha Khan Medical Complex MTI Swabi increased after getting the status of Medical Teaching Institute under the KP Health Reforms in a very short span of time, HD BKMC said doctors were recruited in the hospital and ensured their presence.

Construction work is underway in the hospital under the supervision of Boards of Governors, soon new block for Emergency Burn and Trauma Unit will be ready to facilitate large numbers of patients easily. Efforts are being made to ensure that no patient is referred to Peshawar. HD added.

Yearly data of 2021 revealed that from January 2021 to December 2021, more than 94,350 accident victims were treated. Similarly one lakh 48 thousand and 976 patients were facilitated in Out Patients Department (OPD) while more than 20 thousand patients were admitted in different wards.

According to data in the year 2021, about 2000 operations were performed in MTI BKMC, the highest number 2223 operation performed only in the month of November 2021. Similarly in 2021, more than 385,200 tests were performed in the hospital including X-Ray, ECG, ECHO, Lab, ECG CJT, CT scan, Litho, ETT, Mammography, Endoscopy, Dialysis and Triage.
