Sonam Bajwa opens up on being recognised just as a ‘pretty face’, reveals physical beauty does not last forever

ISLAMABAD, April 29 (Online): Punjabi actor Sonam Bajwa, who enjoys a huge following amongst Bollywood fans too, is a name to reckon with. The 33-year-old, who is one of the most popular celebrities on social media, recently opened up on always being in the news for her looks and not her movies and how she finally managed to break that mould.

In an interview to RJ Siddharth Kannan, Sonam said that she wants to do a lot as an actor, it is just that she has not been offered those kind of scripts. She further added that if she looks back at her journey, a lot of people thought that she is just a pretty face who cannot act.

Sonam then went on to add that eventually she prayed and asked God to give her that one film that will shift people’s focus. The actor eventually went on to do author backed roles in Guddiyan Patole, and Ardab Mutiyaran in 2019. Both the films were commercially successful and people appreciated Sonam’s work.

Sonam further added that she has a long way to go and that she does not attach a lot of importance to physical beauty as it wanes over time. She added that she wants to act all her life and said that Kooburati kitne time tak rahegi (How long will beauty last?) The actor also said that in an industry like theirs, the biological clock of women tends to tick faster than that of men.
