NEW DELHI, APRIL 07 (ONLINE): Deepika Padukone is one of Bollywood’s most sought-after actresses who is known for her powerful performances and impeccable choice of scripts. However, even the biggest stars have to make tough decisions and over the years, Deepika has passed on several films and some of them even went on to become massive hits.
‘Rockstar’ (2011)
Before Nargis Fakhri was cast as the female lead in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Rockstar,’ Deepika was one of the first choices for the role of Heer. However, she turned it down, reportedly due to date issues. The film became a cult classic, with Ranbir Kapoor’s performance and A.R. Rahman’s music earning widespread acclaim.
‘Sultan’ (2016)
Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Sultan’ was one of the biggest hits of 2016, starring Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma. Deepika was approached to play Aarfa, a wrestler who falls in love with Sultan. However, she declined the film, leading to Anushka stepping in and delivering a strong performance.
‘Fast & Furious 7’ (2015)
Deepika had the chance to make her Hollywood debut with ‘Fast & Furious 7’ alongside Vin Diesel. However, she turned down the opportunity due to prior commitments in Bollywood. The role ultimately went to Nathalie Emmanuel but Deepika later made her Hollywood debut in ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ in 2017.

Deepika was initially approached for ‘Baar Baar Dekho,’ a time-travel romance starring Sidharth Malhotra. She declined the offer and the role went to Katrina Kaif. While the film didn’t perform well at the box office, its song ‘Kala Chashma’ became an instant hit.
