NEW DELHI, SEP 24 (ONLINE): The Aashiqui 2 actor’s bearded look is grabbing a lot of attention
Last week celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim posted pictures featuring Aditya Roy Kapur in a dashing look on his Instagram page. The actor’s brand-new look went viral and had his fans couldn’t stop gushing over his scruffy bearded avatar.
In a chat with Bombay Times, Aalim tells us about what went into giving Aditya the new look that made him the talk of the town! He said, “There was no hardcore preparation or a particular thought process as such behind the look.
We just wanted it to look sharp and edgy. Aditya was growing his facial hair, and I wanted to give him a scruffy, strong and a masculine beard. I wanted to keep it very different from how kids these days are doing their beards. So, I kept it manly and rugged.”
Talking about how the beard is impacting his face cut, Aalim explained, “The beard had to have a strong shape so if you see Aditya’s left or right profile you can notice it. Also, I wanted to keep the beard in a complete contrast to the haircut as you see the hair cut is nicely faded from the sides and back. I kept it very textured so you can keep it spiked, tamed with side parting or floppy like Caesar haircuts are. I am glad that people are liking the look.”
Aditya’s look also got compared to Ranbir Kapoor’s look from Animal. Addressing the comparisons, Aalim shared, “According to me both the looks are very different from each other. I would rather say that Aditya’s look might remind one of Bobby Deol’s look from Animal because of that beard. But it is nowhere close to Ranbir’s look. That film boasted of masculinity and maybe why the comparisons are being drawn. All the hair dos and the beards in Animal were designed by me and so maybe people are finding these similarities.”
