ISLAMABAD, JAN 02 (ONLINE): Iffat Omar is a former Pakistani model, host, and television actor. She began her showbiz career through modelling in her teenage years. The actor also got recognition through her notable acting performances in hit dramas like Nangay Paaon, Ghulam Gardish, Muhabbat Aag si, and Aangan. Iffat Omar has now taken a break from acting. She is also known as a vocal political speaker.
Recently, Iffat Omar appeared in Aik Naya Zaviya podcast, hosted by Haroon Rafiq. In the podcast Iffat Omar said that she wants a secular Pakistan where no body is answerable about his/her beliefs and practices.
Talking about it, Iffat Omar said, “I want a secular Pakistan. Again, it is my thought process. I think Quaid-e-Azam also wanted a secular Pakistan; he should have wanted a secular state, because the kind of thoughts he possessed and the kind of life he led, he should have wanted a secular state; if not, then it would be considered a hypocrisy. Religion is a private thing. We all believe in Allah, but who is practicing and who is not should not be people’s matter. I am answerable to Allah for my deeds; Namaz, recitation of the Quran, and other worships should be a private matter”.
