This Valentine’s Day, movie lovers will have plenty of options to enjoy in theatres. With a mix of action, historical drama, superhero adventure, and romantic comedy, the box office is set for a competitive and captivating weekend. Some of the most awaited releases include Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’ and Anthony Mackie’s ‘Captain America: Brave New World’, among other exciting films. Here’s a look at the movies hitting theatres on February 14.

The historical drama ‘Chhaava’ brings the story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, to the big screen. The film focuses on his bravery in protecting the Maratha Empire against Aurangzeb, the Mughal ruler. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the movie stars Vicky Kaushal as Sambhaji Maharaj, with Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, and Diana Penty playing key roles.
Reports suggest that Vicky Kaushal worked hard to portray the character authentically. Meanwhile, Akshaye Khanna plays Aurangzeb, adding intensity to the conflict between the Marathas and the Mughals. The film is said to be inspired by Shivaji Sawant’s book, Chhava, and captures the battles, sacrifices, and victories of Sambhaji Maharaj. Music composer A.R. Rahman has provided the film’s soundtrack, making it even more powerful.
