MUMBAI 16 June (Online): Mumbai police has arrested two people for interrogation in relation to robbery that happened in Indian actress Shilpa Shetty’s Juhu residence last week.
According to an official quoted by Pinkvilla, a complaint was filed at the Juhu police station, leading to the arrest of two suspects who are currently being interrogated.
The officials told the media that some valuables were allegedly stolen from the star’s residence.
The actor is currently out of the country, on holiday in Italy with her family. She has not commented on the incident yet.
This isn’t the first time a celebrity’s home has been robbed in Mumbai. A recent robbery at Salman Khan’s sister, Arpita Khan, and actor Aayush Sharma’s house saw their servant being arrested. Khan filed a complaint with the Mumbai police after her diamond earrings worth INR 500,000 were reported missing from her Khar home.
Earlier this year, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan dealt with a similar issue when a man named Deepak Kewat entered the actor’s home by climbing a tree next his bungalow and stole INR 8,000. He was arrested by Bachchan’s guards before he could escape.
Last year, a robbery took place at actor Sonam Kapoor’s Delhi house and cash and jewellery worth INR 14 million was stolen. Workers at the house were detained by the police for investigation.
Similarly, actor Kajol Devgn’s 17 bangles, worth about INR 500,000 were stolen from her house and after an investigation, the police arrested two workers, Gayatri Devendra and Santosh Pandey, who had been working for the Devgns for the past three years.
