Ukraine, Kyiv (PNI) The Dispatches of War International Film Festival judged Twinkling Without Shining, a documentary about the lives of the Afghan displaced war children, by Khalid Hasan Khan, as an award winner, in the category of “The Best Journalist Investigation”. DoWIFF is held under support of National Research Institute of Ukraine Studies, Kyiv, Ukraine and National Academy of Cultural Managers of Ukraine.
“We anticipate arising of a New Wave of movie makers with new styles and approaches for film making, on the background of the war in Ukraine and other tragedies in the world, This topic is dedicated to all kinds of minorities who are victims or heroes of war”, Mr. Ruslan Poleshuk, Chair, Cultural Studies and Intercultural Communications, wrote in a brief statement.
Twinkling Without Shining has earlier won awards from, Busan New Wave Short Film Festival, Seoul, South Korea, Korea International Short Film Festival, Seoul, South Korea, Golden Wheat Awards, İstanbul, Turkey and Nassau Film Festival Princeton, United States with Honorable Mentions from Jinju English Film Festival Jinju, South Korea and TimeLess Shorts, San Francisco, United States.
Khalid Hasan Khan is an award-winning filmmaker, a graduate from New York Film Academy, Los Angeles, California; with twenty four international awards; his different fiction and non-fiction projects have officially been screened in, over eighty international film festivals, in all continents, across countries, including Australia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Greece, France, India, Italy, Nigeria, Russian Federation, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom and United States.
