HAL HOLBROOK – who starred in All The President’s Men, Magnum Force and Into The Wild – has died at the age of 95. The sad news has been confirmed by his assistant.
Hal Holbrook has died at the age of 95. The acting veteran died on January 23 at his home in Beverly Hills, California.
His death was confirmed by his assistant, Joyce Cohen, on Monday night.
The actor had an incredible career in movies and starred in films including All The President’s Men, Magnum Force and Into The Wild.
His career spanned over six decades and his talents saw him nominated for an Oscar, a Tony Award, and five Emmys.
Hal also portrayed the 16th US President Abraham Lincoln in 1974 mini series Lincoln.
His performance in the series earned him one of his Emmy Awards.
Hal’s most recent on-screen appearances came in TV series Hawaii Five-0, Grey’s Anatomy and Bones in 2017.
He also starred in Sons of Anarchy and the 2012 movie Lincoln, in which he played Preston Blair.
Hal was also a star on the stage alongside his on-screen roles.
He memorably played Mark Twain in a one-man show, which was initially part of an honours project at university.
The actor starred in Mark Twain Tonight! for six decades before retiring from it in September 2017.
Hal was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1925.
He and his two sisters were abandoned by their parents when the actor was two-years-old
