Emma Stone set to play in new film ‘Poor Things’

ISLAMABAD-Emma Stone is set to star in the upcoming film Poor Things. The 32yearold actress is teaming up with director Yorgos Lanthimos – who she worked with on The Favourite – for a movie adaptation of the novel by Alasdair Gray which was influenced by the 1818 novel Frankenstein. She will be playing the role of Bella Baxter who is described as a ‘volatile, oversexed, emancipated woman and a female Frankenstein.’In the twisted thriller, Stone’s character drowns herself to escape her abusive husband and has her brain replaced by that of her unborn child.

The project has also tapped The Favourite screenwriter Tony McNamara and is looking to begin production in late 2021 with eyes on a 2022 release. A story plot that is perhaps a bit unsettling for Stone who is expecting her first child with husband Dave McCary, she will be able to harness all the motherly emotions by the time the film begins shooting.
