For several years, the actor has booked the Eid date and treated the audience with one blockbuster after another. On the occasion of Eid today, Salman Khan Starrer ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ has hit the screens. While the jury is still out on this one, here’s taking a look at Salman’s historic past Eid releases.
Salman Khan’s cop avatar as in this Abhinav Kashyap directorial was met with a roaring applause. Chulbul Pandey soon became a sensation and his romance with debutant Sonakshi Sinha aka Rajjo was shipped by fans. Having released a decade ago, this blockbuster managed to rake in a lifetime collection of Rs 130 crore.
Salman Khan put up an impressive bodyguard’s act for this 2011 release and his performance as Lovely Singh made fans fall in love with his character.
Kareena Kapoor Khan played the role of Salman’s love interest while Katrina Kaif’s shot for a special title song with Salman. At the end of its theatrical run, this entertainer scored Rs 144 crore.
Salman Khan’s spy avatar as Tiger was massively welcomed by fans. And his chemistry with Katrina Kaif in this entertainer was also a huge it. This Kabir Khan directorial narrated an action packed journey of Salman as a RAW agent. ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ set the cash registers ringing out loud at the box office as it raked in a gross total of Rs 186 crore nett.
Kabir Khan and Salman Khan reunited in 2015 to deliver yet another Eid blockbuster. ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ was a cross border saga with foot-tapping numbers. High on emotions, this film starred Kareena Kapoor opposite Salman Khan, with Nazwauddin Siddiqui and Harshaali Malhotra essaying pivotal parts. ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ made a total business of Rs 315 crore.
Salman Khan beefed up for this sports drama, wherein he played the role of a wrestling champion. He shared the frame with Anushka Sharma in this Ali Abbas Zafar directorial. ‘Sultan’ opened to majorly positive reviews and scored a whopping Rs 300 crore at the end of its theatrical run.
