Islamabad: The 15th KAKE Japanese Language Speech Contest was held at Marriott Hotel Islamabad, jointly hosted by the KAKE Educational Institute of Japan in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan.
The highlight of the event was the exceptional performance of 15-year-old Wadia Fatima, a student of Roots Ivy International School Islamabad, who emerged as the All-Pakistan Winner, earning widespread applause for her confident delivery and thoughtful expression.
The contest was graced by Ura Mariko, Second Secretary at the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan, who attended as the chief guest. Commending the participants, she remarked, “It’s inspiring to see such enthusiasm for the Japanese language among Pakistani youth.”
Out of 66 applicants from across the country, 24 finalists were selected to present speeches centered on the theme “My Dream.” Their performances reflected not only linguistic skill but also creativity, ambition, and a growing cultural curiosity.
The event underscored the rising interest in Japanese language and culture among Pakistani students and highlighted the importance of educational exchange in strengthening Pakistan–Japan relations. Beyond celebrating talent, initiatives like this promote healthy competition, intellectual growth, and global confidence—empowering young Pakistanis to engage meaningfully on international platforms.
