HANOI, June 26 : Vietnam’s National Assembly on Thursday passed a resolution to waive tuition fees for all public school students nationwide from September this year, Vietnam News Agency reported.
The policy will cover preschool children aged from three months to six years as well as students from grades 1 to 12.
Tuition support will also be provided to students attending private schools.
Vietnam currently has around 23 million preschoolers and general education students.
According to Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son, the government is expected to allocate approximately 30.6 trillion Vietnamese dong (around 1.2 billion U.S. dollars) for the 2025-2026 academic year to implement the tuition waiver.
