ISLAMABAD, Jul 10 (APP):A three-day seminar on “Intellectual Property Consultancy” begun at the main campus of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) here on Wednesday.
While highlighting objectives of the seminar Additional Director, Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), AIOU, Dr. Saima Nasir said that in today’s innovative landscape understanding rights and methods related to intellectual property was more essential then ever.
Deputy Director IPO, Ghulam Mujtaba, highlighted the crucial role of intellectual properties in protecting creative works, shedding light on copyright and patent application formalities. He said that, throughout these sessions, aim would be to empower participants with essential knowledge and practical skills in navigating the intricacies of IP laws, focusing on copyright and patent application procedures.
The ORIC office ensured broad participation of students, research scholars and faculty members not only in-person but through online connectivity facilitated by its IT teams. Sessions covered methods for acquiring trademarks and guidelines for trademark registration for business stakeholders.
