Lahore-December 02(Online): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad Akhtar inaugurated watercourse lining at PU for providing canal water to agricultural lands.
On this occasion, Resident Officer-II Jalil Tariq, Deputy Director Water Management Hafiz Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, teachers and officers of various departments were present.
In his address, Prof Niaz Ahmad Akhtar said that supply of canal water would have a positive impact on crop production. Jalil Tariq said that watercourse lining has been constructed at a cost of Rs 71 lac which will irrigate 132 acres of agricultural land.
He said that 70% of the funding for the project has been provided under the World Bank project through Punjab water management.
