Karachi University organizes charity match for flood victims

Karachi, September 7, 2022 (Online): Floods due to unusual and heavy rains across Pakistan have left a large part of Pakistan under destruction. To protect these flood victims in these hard times, under the Iqra Cricket Academy at the Sports Ground of Iqra University, North Karachi Campus, the 3-day charity cricket tournament is organized by Chairman Hunaid Lakhani and Vice-Chancellor WasimQazi. On this occasion, Director Academics Dr. Syed Ali Raza conducted a 3-day charity cricket tournament at the sports ground of Iqra University North Campus.

He said that the young students are excited and willing to participate in this tournament to become a part of this initiative. Mats, shoes, clothes, slippers, tents, shelters, and other essential grill items will be distributed amongst them.

The purpose of holding this cricket match is only to help the victims, in which 32 cricket teams have been included, so that the charity collected from it can help the flood survivors. He said that the rain and floods have caused havoc in Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwah (KPK) due to which, along with the loss of lives, houses have also been destroyed, animals have been washed away, and crops have also been destroyed. He further said that when our beloved country, Pakistan, is in need, we will be prominent from the platform of Iqra University and will continue to contribute to this cause.
