HEC Launches Faculty Development Programme for Associate Professors

Islamabad, April 21, 2025: National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), HEC launched on Monday a two-week National Faculty Development Programme (Tier-II) for Associate Professors of Public Sector Universities at Higher Education Commission (HEC), Secretariat. This is the fourth cohort of the year, comprising 24 faculty members from diverse disciplines across universities nationwide.

The training aims to elevate teaching excellence, research innovation, and professional growth of the participants. It will equip faculty members with the skills that will enable them to enhance their roles as professional educators and trainers across Pakistan in terms of fostering excellence in teaching, research, and professional growth. The training will equip participants with advanced pedagogical techniques, innovative research strategies, and leadership competencies required to meet the evolving demands of higher education sector.

Managing Director Ms. Noor Amna Malik graced the opening ceremony as chief guest. Acknowledging the role of NAHE team in making the initiative a success, she congratulated the participants for being part of the programme. She underlined that NAHE, in the NFDP cohorts, has a representation from across the Pakistani universities, which is a testimony to its efforts for fostering national integration.

She shed light on the training modules that cover pivotal academic, research and administrative areas, such as ensuring excellence in higher education teaching, research excellence and innovation, effective academic planning & implementation, psychological and educational strategies for teachers and students, organizational communication, technological integration in higher education, assessment and evaluation, higher education administration and management, audit and financial management, project lifecycle, and procurement etc. She underlined that the modules will be delivered by leading experts in their fields, utilizing modern pedagogical techniques and digital tools. She urged the participants to take full advantage of the opportunity.

In his welcome address, Director NAHE Mr.Sulaiman Ahmad welcomed the participating faculty members to the programme set to enhance their skills, knowledge, and leadership capabilities. He highlighted the importance of NFDP in career development of faculty members while shedding light on the important role of the participants.

Earlier, Chairman HEC Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed also had a brief interaction with the NFDP participants and wished them good luck.

The Faculty Development Program Tier-II not only underscores NAHE’s unwavering commitment to academic advancement and innovation but also directly supports and contributes to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:
