LAHORE – October 10 (ONLINE) Punjab government on Monday approved establishment of ten universities across the province to promote higher education, it emerged.
A draft bill in this regard will be presented before Punjab Assembly (PA), sources said. The Punjab government has approved a policy in this regard.
According to policy, the provincial government will establish universities’ infrastructure. Final approval for each university will be granted by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), sources added.
Newly proposed universities are: University of Taunsa, University of Layyah, University of Hafizabad, University of Rajanpur, Baba Farid University Pakpattan, University of Attock, University of Gujranwala, University of Toba Tek Singh, Waqar un Nisa Women University Rawalpindi, UET Sialkot and DG Khan Women University.
