Pakistan’s relation with China is cornerstone of our foreign policy: Prime Minister Kakar

Islamabad OCTOBER 20 (Online): Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar meeting with Party Secretary of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Central Member of Politburo of Communist Party of China and Party Secretary of Xinjiang Autonomous Region Mr. Ma Xingrui.

While emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to friendship with China, Prime Minister emphasized that relations with China are the cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy and the guarantor of regional peace and development.

While referring to his meetings with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang in Beijing, Prime Minister appreciated the strong personal commitment of the Chinese leadership to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. Reiterating the importance of Xinjiang to Pakistan, Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar said that this region has a special significance due to its geographical, historical and cultural links with Pakistan.

He emphasized the importance of deepening ties between Xinjiang and Pakistan’s neighboring regions in various fields of cooperation, from trade and investment to cultural and people-to-people relations. Thanking the Prime Minister for his visit to Xinjiang, Party Secretary Ma Xingrui said that there is immense potential to deepen Pakistan-Xinjiang relations in various fields.

He expressed Xinjiang’s willingness to explore business and trade opportunities in Pakistan and further facilitate trade and people-to-people relations through Khunjarab Sost border crossing. Both sides agreed to work together to realize the full potential of cooperation between Xinjiang and Pakistan’s neighboring regions.
