ISLAMABAD, DEC 23 (Online): World Bank (WB) has approved loan amounting to 1955 billion dollars for Pakistan.
A statement issued by ministry of economic affairs has said the loan amount will be utilized for improvement in energy sector.
The statement further said the agreement between Pakistan and WB were signed in Islamabad. Secretary economic affairs division Mian Asad Haya ud Din and WB operation manager Anjum Ahmad signed the agreement on behalf of WB while representatives of HESCO, MEPCO and PESCO signed the agreements of the project.
Under the project steps will be taken to improve the operational efficiency of HESCO, PESCO and MEPCO. This project will help power division in implementation of reforms in power sector under National Electricity Policy -2021.
