ISLAMABAD – January 28 (ONLINE): Opposition parties in Senate of Pakistan have direly criticized government for State Bank of Pakistan (Amendment) Bill 2021 which was passed by the upper house of parliament with single vote majority on Friday.
Opposition members of Senate of Pakistan said Friday that the opposition rejects State Bank of Pakistan (Amendment) Bill 2021.
Reacting to earlier development where Senate of Pakistan passed the bill on Friday, PPP senator Sherri Rehman said that Friday’s senate session was rigged as ‘covid-positive members were brought to attend the session with oxygen masks on their faces’.

On the other hand, eight members from opposition parties and four from treasury benches remained absent from Friday’s Senate meeting.
Opposition’s Yousuf Raza Gilani, Shafeeq Tarin, Nuzhat Sadiq, Talha Mehmood, Mushahid Hussain, Naseema Ehsan, Qasim Ranjhu and Sikandar Mahindru reportedly remained absent from Friday’s meeting.
