Seafood worth $173.750 mln, meat $149.915 million exported in five months

Fish and fish preparations exports from Pakistan recorded a growth of 7.03 per cent during the first five months of the current financial year compared to the corresponding period of last year.

According to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), exports of fish and fish products during July–November 2025 stood at 75,766 metric tons, valuing $173.750 million, as against 75,336 metric tons worth $162.334 million exported during the same period last year.

Similarly, exports of meat and meat preparations witnessed an increase of 7.12 per cent during the period under review. Pakistan exported 47,990 metric tons of meat products worth $215.944 million, compared to 47,507 metric tons valued at $201.586 million in the corresponding period of the previous year.

During the first five months of the ongoing financial year, the country earned $149.915 million through the export of 240,297 metric tons of fresh fruits, showing growth from exports of 220,574 metric tons worth $132.577 million during the same period last year.

However, rice imports during the period declined sharply by 49.24 per cent, falling to 1.425 million metric tons valued at $769.294 million, compared to 2.377 million metric tons worth $1.515 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Meanwhile, food group imports into the country rose by 28.33 per cent during the first five months of the current financial year, reaching $3.847 billion, compared to imports of $2.998 billion in the same period last year.
