ISLAMABAD, Feb 03 (Online): Government has once again dropped electricity bombshell on people by scaling up power tariff by Rs 4.56 per unit. NEPRA has issued its detailed decision and as per this decision care taker government has enhanced power tariff by Rs 4.56 per unit. According to NEPRA, the increase in power tariff has been made under the head of fuel cost adjustment for the month of December.
The increased tariff will be applicable for one month only.
It has been said in the notification that additional financial burden of Rs 39.80 billion will be shifted to consumers.
The enhanced tariff will not apply to consumers of K-Electric and life line consumers.
According to authorities the consumers will have to make additional payments through the electricity bill for the month of February.
It is pertinent to mention here cost of electricity was increased Rs 4.13 per unit under the head of monthly adjustment for November.
