PML-N to run ‘anti-inflation’ movement

[1:03 AM, 10/18/2021] Zafar Malik: Lahore – October 17 (Online): Largest opposition party Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to hold nationwide protests against record-high inflation, sources said Sunday.

According to details, a telephonic consultation took place between PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif and JUI-F chief Fazl-ur-Rehman on Sunday.

During the conversation, PDM leaders discussed matters related to current political scenario and ever increasing inflation.

They decided to ignite an anti-inflation movement that would consist of political rallies, sources said.

Islamabad – October 17 (Online): Shaukat Tarin no longer remained Pakistan’s Finance minister as his tenure finished Saturday.
The portfolio, however now rests with Prime Minister Imran Khan with immediate effect.

No clear decision line has been taken by government in this regard but sources claim that government wants Shaukat Tarin to continue serving as Finance minister.

Government intends Shaukat Tarin’s election as senator from KPK in order to reappoint him as finance minister, sources added.

However, in order to do so, any incumbent senate member from KPK must resign.
