Islamabad – September 21 (Online): Public Accounts Committee (PAC), in its meeting on Tuesday showed vexation over oil and gas companies for not paying their large payments.
According to details, PAC meeting was held under the chair of its convener Syed Naveed Qamar at parliament house.
The committee ordered to blacklist several oil and gas companies for not paying their heavy dues.
Officials from ministry of petroleum appeared before the committee and revealed that companies working in oil and gas sector owe to pay heavy dues and many of the cases are pending in courts.
Convener Naveed Qamar said that ministry of petroleum should blacklist all such defaulting companies. He showed annoyance that cases with different companies are stuck in courts and government officials try to mask themselves behind these cases.
Committee directed petroleum officials to tackle pending matters within two months.
Audit officials told PAC meeting that companies working in electricity production are indebted of more than 73 billion rupees.
PAC members while showing displeasure said that public money is stuck with companies and officials are doing nothing to retrieve money.
