ISLAMABAD, Sep 10 (APP):The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Friday approved Rs 1.38 per unit increase in power tariff for July under the monthly fuel cost adjustment (FCA) mechanism.
The regulator held public hearing on September 1. The Central Power Purchase Agency (CPPA-G) had sought positive FCA of Rs.1.4685/kWh, having impact of Rs.22.3 billion. However, the regulator approved positive FCA of Rs.1.38 per unit.
According to the notification issued here, “The FCA of July 2021 shall be charged in the billing month of September 2021 to all consumer categories of XWDISCOs, except life line consumers”.
This FCA would remain applicable only for one month. This FCA would not be applicable to KE consumers.
