National Bank fined more than 3 billion 32 crore rupees in last 8 years: audit report

Islamabad Aug 13 (Online): Violations of rules and regulations, National Bank had to pay a fine of more than 3 billion 32 crore rupees during the last 8 years.

According to audit documents, National Bank of Pakistan has been fined more than 3 billion 32 crore rupees for serious violations of rules and regulations by State Bank of Pakistan, Competition Commission and various international regulatory bodies during the last 8 years. These payments have been made during the financial year 2012 to 2020.

Documents revealed that National Bank has been fined 3 billion 19 crore rupees by the State Bank of Pakistan and more than 12 crore 80 lakh rupees by other financial institutions in this regard.

Penalties have been levied by State Bank for non-implementation of prevailing rules during various inspections.
