Govt paying special attention to increase exports, reduce inflation: Miftah

ISLAMABAD, Aug 3 (APP): Federal Minister for Finance Miftah Ismail on Wednesday said that the incumbent government was paying special attention to increase exports and reduce inflation as well.

We were busy with international monetary fund’s (IMF), to make soft agreement and the major issues have been resolved after assurance of friendly countries regarding loans, he said while talking to a private television channel.

The government, he said had to face challenges after increasing oil prices. He added that situation has become normal due to reduction in oil prices.

The Pakistan was going to cross default line sometime back, he said adding that we have made hectic efforts to steer the country out of economic crisis. In reply to a question, he said, there is a need to appoint state bank’s governor.

He added that appointments of the governor SBP would be made soon. He said that Pakistan was making progress gradually in economic sector. To another question about shortage of oil products, he said, Pakistan had sufficient oil products and there is no issue in this connection.
