Govt decides to dissolve board of directors of power distribution companies

ISLAMABAD, Sep 12 (Online): Caretaker government has decided to dissolve Board of Directors (BODs) of Power Distribution Companies.

Ministry of energy sources said that new members will be appointed in power companies. These members will be technical, capable and non political. In this respect new boards will be constituted for power distribution companies and NTDC.

According to sources the incumbent board members get Rs 60000 compensation against one day meeting.

Decision has been taken to abolish the existing procedure for participation in the meeting. Now companies’ board members will be honorary.

On the other hand crackdown on power pilferers is underway across the country. Power stealing more than 80000 units was caught during 4 days crackdown. Fine to the tune of Rs 352 million was slapped on power pilferers.
