BEIJING – February 4 (ONLINE): Special Assistant to Prime Minister on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Affairs Khalid Mansoor has said the Chinese companies have assured their full support to second phase of the CPEC project.
Talking to Pakistan’s state television in Beijing on Friday about Prime Minister Imran Khan’s meetings with Chinese corporate leaders, Khalid said Pakistan-China joint working groups in ten sectors will expeditiously develop projects and the Chinese side has assured technical, technological and financial support to them.
Khalid Mansoor said that a Consortium of three Chinese companies have expressed interest to establish a metal and paper reprocessing park in Gwadar. He said this Chinese project envisages investment of about 3.5 billion dollars and the consortium wants to establish the park in a matter of two to three years.
He said three Chinese agro companies have also presented their projects to improve the agriculture sector of Pakistan. He said another Chinese company has expressed interest to grow corn and soybean in Pakistan.
Khalid Mansoor said there is yet another Chinese company which has expressed interest to invest in the diary sector.
The Special Assistant said a leading Chinese textile company has procured one hundred acres of land on Lahore-Kasur road to establish a textile cluster. Describing it an important initiative, he said this project envisages investment of 250 million dollars and estimated to provide twenty thousand job opportunities.
