ISLAMABAD, June 15 (Online): Acquiring crude oil from international market is priority of Pakistan.

“the matter for purchase of oil from Russia happened after bilateral negotiations process. As per my information we are not in contact with India with reference to cyclone”, this was said by Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch during her weekly press briefing here Thursday.

She held Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has reached Azerbaijan in connection with his visit. He met with the president of Azerbaijan and the two exchanged views on bilateral relations, defence and joint partnership.
An agreement will also be signed between foreign services academies of both countries.

She said minister of state for foreign affairs Hina Rabbani Khar is on the visit of Norway, Belgium and Denmark.

She also met chief of European Union foreign policy Josep Borrell.
Danish Minister for development has reached Pakistan on two days visit.
Joint action plan on renewable energy will be signed between Pakistan and Denmark.

Foreign minister of Denmark will meet foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto.

Avoiding commenting on reports of shifting of proscribed TTP to North Afghanistan she said we are in contacts with interim Afghan authorities.

To my information there is no contact with India with reference to cyclone in Karachi.

Pakistan is taking steps regarding May 09 incidents as per law and constitution, she underlined.

Acquiring crude oil from international market is priority of Pakistan; she said adding this is very vital for our national economy. Because we are facing energy problems here.

It is right of Pakistan to make decisions for purchase of crude oil to address its energy problems, she underscored.
